Oticon Medical is a global leader of bone anchored hearing aids (BAHS) and is one of the fastest growing companies in the medical device market. The US market is one of the top priorities for Oticon Medical due to the size and the attentiveness for new technology and related support services. With the BAHS segment, Oticon Medical has solid market position which we expect to be able to expand further with new products . We are also preparing FDA submission for our Cochlear Implant. This business represents a significant growth opportunity going forward. Back office operations and structure are also areas of focus to ensure sustainability and scalability.

This position reports into President WDH Americas and matrix reporting into the VP of Global Sales & Clinical Support. This position is a part of both local and business management teams. This position will lead the US team that is made up of the following functional areas; sales, clinical, marketing, customer service, clinical research, reimbursement, regulatory and legal.


  • Leadership position responsible for the overall business performance in the US to deliver revenue and profit objectives in accordance to the overall business objective
  • Position the business as a leader in both segments of Bone Anchored and Cochlear Implants.
  • Develop a growth strategy for the Bone Anchored hearing solution including; product differentiation, creating a network of key opinion leaders and differentiating with exceptional customer experience
  • Help drive the successful introduction of Cochlear implants in the US
  • Partner with HQ and other global leaders to align on the strategy for introducing cochlear implants and define actions in order to prepare the market in the US for FDA approval and launch
  • Work with Sales leadership to define a structured sales approach and tools in order to have field reps target and maximize sales in all customer interactions
  • Define a training plan to develop the capabilities of the BAHS and cochlear implant solutions for the Sales & Clinical teams
  • Develop a strong growth and team spirit among Sales, Marketing and Customer Service in order to drive performance and Customer and Patient satisfaction
  • Drive operational excellence in back office process related to credentialing, pre-authorization and billing through Medicare/Medicaid and insurance providers
  • Enhance Marketing messages and support to drive competitive advantage and messaging around product differentiation
  • Effective planning and execution of product launches; drive awareness programs, ensure excellent customer support, best in class training for surgeons, nurses and audiologists in products, software and patient management tools
  • Responsible for financials to forecast, report and create business plans around budget, revenue and ASP
  • Drive a change in the group’s performance and mentality to a become a high performing team
  • Engage with peer business leaders and Sr Leadership in determining joint business goals, culture, benefits and policies suitable for the workforce
  • Manage and develop staff with the mindset to develop future leaders
  • Drive compliance to all policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters/MBA degree preferred
  • 5 years medical device experience required, preferably in surgical device where products are complex
  • Experience selling in a hospital or medical facility required
  • Sales experience required and minimum of 8 years sales management experience required
  • Track record of achieving exceptional sales results
  • Experience in working with FDA with product approval preferred
  • Experience in working internationally required
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop and lead teams that produce results
  • Highly collaborative leadership style
  • Proven ability to build a strong network and engage with thought leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate a wide variety of stakeholders across multi-disciplinary businesses and functions
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • 50% travel is required
