Overview

The Manager of Learning and Development will partner with departments across Oticon, Inc. to create high-value training programs for our employees and customers (hearing care professionals). The successful person in this role will inspire employees to continuously learn, perform and grow professionally, Through best-in-class training and education for customers, the Manager of Learning and Development will also help position Oticon as a leader in the hearing healthcare industry.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Learning and Development, the Manager of Learning and Development will own all facets of the learning design process including but not limited to: needs analysis, design documentation, writing/editing of learning objectives and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) application, and stakeholder management. In addition to supervising a team of Education and Training Specialists, this individual will also personally complete several instructional design projects and produce training deliverables as described above.

In addition, the Manager of Learning and Development will build and drive learning analytics to help evaluate the effectiveness of the learning solutions. S/He will also develop and execute on a content maintenance strategy to ensure that learning materials are always accurate and updated.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to organize and create training curricula for Oticon customers and employees around products, audiological acumen, sales excellence and relationship management.  
  • Play a leadership role in the roll out of new product training for the entire organization.
  • Assist with developing and executing multimedia training strategies, specifically the expanded use of just-in-time videos and app tools.
  • Establish achievable training project plans with realistic timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and execute according to plan.
  • For large-scale customer events, create program theme and agenda, and work with all stakeholders to finalize agenda topics and flow.
  • Design presentations that Field Trainers will use in training customers on new and existing products, leveraging techniques such as active learning, storytelling, polling, games etc to drive engagement.
  • Partner with Regional Managers and the Manager of Field Training to develop learning strategies and customer-specific content that aligns with each account’s needs.
  • Create CEU-eligible training materials and CEU application for submission to certifying boards.
  • Oversee the execution of new hire onboarding for various employee groups.
  • Measure the effectiveness and impact of learning solutions, and use the data to continuously improve our learning solutions.
  • Oversee and organize updates to existing learning materials for the continuous improvement of course content and program delivery techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree in Audiology or Aud.D required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with content creation or technical writing. Work samples will be requested during the interview process
  • Well-versed in adult learning theory and experience with its application in a corporate environment
  • Experience in offering training in multiple settings including but not limited to: instructor-led, online, video-based, podcasts, etc.
  • A strong communicator, both in writing and spoken communications
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint, preferred
  • Instructional design experience preferred
  • Proficiency with course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or iSpring Presenter preferred
