  • Overview

    The Help Desk Specialist provides a focal point for questions and issues generated by the users of the company’s systems. He/she is responsible for providing an interface between the IT department resources and the users. The Help Desk Specialist ensures that all reported issues are recorded and categorized, and either resolved immediately or delegated to the appropriate resource.


    • Ensure that all IT policies, procedures and standards are followed.
    • Provides the initial point of contact for all systems users with IT related issues.
    • Ensure that all requests are logged, classified, and delegated appropriately.
    • Installs, configures, optimizes and retires equipment as required.
    • Investigates, diagnoses, and resolves hardware and software issues.
    • Maintains a library of reported issues and solutions.
    • Coordinates with vendors to request service for defective products.
    • Works with other IT staff to assist in the development of fixes and improvements.
    • Helps with the development of training materials and procedures.
    • Helps train users on the usage of company systems.
    • Provides technical expertise, and works to ensure that he company’s use of technology supports its business goals.


    • College degree or equivalent
    • Professional certification
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Operating systems and software
    • Experience with the following tools and protocols: Active Directory, Office365, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN
    • Experience supporting a retail corporation is preferred
