  • Overview

    The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting for employee commissions and payroll.  This person will also support various process improvement projects and corporate initiatives for the Accounting Department. This position is expected to perform at a high level of accountability and reliability of work.

    Responsibilities

    • Work under the guidance of the Financial Controller on various commission calculations across all areas of business.
    • Assist with weekly payroll and other payroll related projects and tasks.
    • Prepare commission statements and distribute to necessary staff, while ensuring all investigative responses are handled in a timely manner.
    • Import various transactions into several ERP systems including, but not limited to, payroll entries and commission accruals.
    • Maintain and track commission plans per employee and business.
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of various complex business processes and understand their impact on various transactional systems and related accounting.  Where automation is lacking, ensure manual processes with proper controls and documentation exist to support accounting.
    • Prepare and/or review journal entries to support accurate and timely accounting month-end close.  This includes reviewing transactional sources and verification of system interfaces where applicable to ensure data integrity
    • May perform miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by manager.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Minimum 1-3 years working in the Accounting/Finance field
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
      • (Manipulation and creation of Pivot Tables and utilization of V-Lookups & Sum-Ifs)
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results driven
    • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
